Most travellers, including UK, US, Canadian, Australian and EU passport holders, can enter the Philippines visa free for stays of up to 30 days, provided their passport is valid for at least six months beyond arrival and they hold a return or onward ticket.
The official currency is the Philippine Peso (PHP). Cards are accepted in Puerto Princesa's larger hotels and resorts, but El Nido and Coron remain fairly cash reliant, so it is best to withdraw cash in Puerto Princesa before heading further north.

Most visitors fly into Puerto Princesa International Airport (PPS) from Manila or Cebu. El Nido and Coron also have their own smaller airports with limited direct flights, mainly from Manila.
Direct flights between these points are limited or unavailable at times, so many travellers rely on buses, vans or boats to move between them, with the Puerto Princesa to El Nido journey taking around five hours by road.
